Ben Blegen, MN - Team Coach & Manager Bio
Ben Blegen started competitively fishing 10 years ago as an ice angler in the North American Ice Fishing Circuit which includes 4 qualifier championship wins, 11 top ten finishes, 7 which were top 5 finishes and 3 top 3 finishes for team of the year. But for Ben, competitive fishing doesn’t stop there. Ben is a current 2018 World Champion gold medalist as a reserve angler on the USA Bass Fishing Team where he currently serves as Co-Captain and reserve angler. Ben also is an angler for the USA Ice Team and has traveled to Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Bulgaria, competing for the United States at the World Ice Fishing Championship. During open water season, Ben is the Captain on the United States Predator Fishing Team and has competed in Russia, England, and South Africa for the Predator World Championships. When not competing in freshwater World Championships, Ben also competes in saltwater zonal championships competing in the Pan-American Championships on the United States Big Game team and has traveled to Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama to compete. Ben serves as a Board Member on the United States Angling Confederation, Vice – President on the Board of Directors for the USA Ice Team and a member of the Board of Directors for the Pan-American Sportfishing Federation, working toward the progression of fishing as an Olympic sport! When Ben isn’t competing he is a multi-business owner and an inventor of new products for the ice fishing industry. Ben also travels the United States doing seminars, conducting kids camps in ice fishing, speaking at schools and teaching kids and adults the secrets he has learned around the world, allowing anglers of all ages to have the tools and techniques to be more successful on the ice.
